Batanta Waterfall is one of the famous tourist attractions in Raja Ampat. There are also many tourists who go on expeditions or adventures to reach the location. To visit this island, you must first arrive in Sorong and then head to the port to continue the journey by boat. From the Sorong pier, which is the gateway to the Raja Ampat district, you can use tourist boats, local government boats, or rent a speed boat or long boat to get to Batanta Island.


For a speed boat or long boat, you can rent it for a rental fee of around IDR 5 million / day and can take you directly to Batanta Island without having to go to Waisai. For people's boats, the fare is around Rp. 120,000 per person, and serves the Sorong-Waisai route, the capital city of Raja Ampat. This ship sails once a day at 14:00 WIT with a travel time of about 2 to 3 hours. Then, you just continue your journey to Batanta Island by speed boat or local fishing boat at a rate of around IDR 100,000. You can decide for yourself which one you want, the trip to Batanta Island is not too far, only about 30 minutes.

From the Batanta Island pier you can take a speed boat to go to Arefi Village which is on the other side of Batanta Island. After arriving, you just have to follow the river that flows from the mangrove forest in the interior of Batanta Island, the river water is not too deep, so you can walk. The terrain is quite slippery because it enters the muddy mangrove forest. After walking along the river for approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at the Batanta Waterfall. When you go to the location of the waterfall, you should bring supplies because at the location of Batanta Waterfall there are no residents selling food.
